Jordan 11 Green Screen: Space Jam’s Special Effects Get Their Own Sneaker

Jordan 11 Green Screen: Space Jam's Special Effects Get Their Own Sneaker

For Space Jam's 30th anniversary, Jordan Brand pulls the Air Jordan 11 behind the camera, with glow-in-the-dark soles, carrot-orange details and a Looney Tunes box.

Somewhere on the Air Jordan 11 Green Screen, there’s a nod to Bugs Bunny’s carrots. It’s on the sole, it’s orange, and it’s doing double duty, which makes it a better joke than it sounds.

Jordan Brand is marking 30 years of Space Jam with a collection built around the Air Jordan 11. The headline act is the Green Screen colorway, part of the film’s 30th-anniversary collection. It swaps the usual patent shine for a look inspired by the production technology that placed Michael Jordan alongside animated characters. It lands on November 14, 2026.

A shoe that looks different from every angle

The colour is Lucky Green, and it covers the whole silhouette. Jordan Brand has varied the shade and texture across the upper, so the shoe reads differently as you turn it. The materials are green suede and nubuck, including the curved mudguard that wraps the toe and sides. The lace loops are leather in a matching tone, and the midsole gets a suede covering too, so the textured finish runs below the upper as well. A debossed Jumpman sits at the ankle, and a 23 appears on the heel. The official palette lists Multi-Color, Lucky Green, Orange Peel and Gym Green.

Flip it over for the party trick. The translucent outsole glows in the dark. The orange traction pods nod to Bugs Bunny’s carrots, and they also reference the tracking markers used during production to combine live action with animation. A carrot gag and a bit of film-production trivia, sharing a single sole.

Under the fun, it’s still a basketball shoe. Nike Air cushioning absorbs impact and works with a foam midsole, and rubber sections on the outsole give grip on different surfaces. The upper mixes real and synthetic leather with fabric, alongside the suede, and it laces up the conventional way. Those parts keep the model’s basketball foundations intact beneath the costume.

The box is half the fun

Open the shoe and the references keep coming. The insoles show Jordan dunking with help from a Monstar, a nod to the film’s climactic basketball game. The packaging is a green box with Jumpman and Looney Tunes graphics, Bugs Bunny artwork, and Tune Squad and Monstars branding. Lift the lid and you’ll find Jordan holding a film clapperboard against a green-screen setting.

Who gets which pair

The Green Screen is the one with the behind-the-scenes angle, but it isn’t the only Air Jordan 11 in the anniversary collection. Here’s the rundown.

Purists get the Retro OG, which follows the shoe Jordan wore in the film. If your Space Jam memory is of the actual sneakers on the actual court, this is your pair.

The women’s “Magic Ball” pair has a colour-shifting upper. It references the basketball that held the NBA players’ stolen abilities, which is a neat way to put a plot device on a shoe.

Anyone who wants the film-set story gets the Green Screen. Adult pairs cost $255 and carry the SKU IQ5700-900. Big kids’ pairs join the launch at $200, so there’s a smaller-size route into the nostalgia as well.

Cleat people aren’t forgotten. The collection also has baseball and American football cleats, though the football version is reserved for promotional use. Don’t hold your breath on that one.

Dates and where to look

The wider collection begins launching on November 5. The Green Screen follows on November 14 through Nike SNKRS and select Jordan Brand retailers. Set an alarm, because anything with a glow-in-the-dark sole and a Looney Tunes box tends to draw a crowd, and your thumbs should be ready before the clock hits zero.
