Zara Wears Sunglasses Indoors for Evening 2026

Zara Wears Sunglasses Indoors for Evening 2026

Zara's Evening 2026 campaign puts three models in shades, gloves and leather trousers, and sells menswear after dark with a nightclub swagger.

Sunglasses indoors are the oldest vanity move in the nightlife book, and Zara Evening 2026 has built a campaign around it. The high-street giant’s new evening menswear images, covered by The Fashionisto, cast Chubath Kutien, Parker van Noord and Vasko Luyckx as three men who clearly intend to be looked at.

The styling is the story. Dark lenses stay on when there is nothing to shield them from. Gloves stay on when there is nobody to shake hands with. Leather trousers anchor the whole thing from the waist down. None of it is practical, and that is the appeal. This is a wardrobe designed for the hours when nobody is asking what anything is for.

The vanity edit

Evening dressing in menswear has long leaned on the suit, with a tie loosened as the night wears on. Zara’s campaign skips the polite version and goes straight to the mood of the club: low light, high self-regard, a slight pose in every frame. Sunglasses are the shortcut. They hide the eyes, signal that the wearer has somewhere better to be, and turn an ordinary entrance into an arrival.

Gloves work in a similar way. They are a small piece of theatre. A gloved hand reads as deliberate, a little formal and a little mysterious, and it makes even a simple gesture look staged. Pair that with leather trousers and the silhouette changes from well-dressed to well-lit. Leather catches light the way sequins do for others, only with a lower voice.

Three faces, one attitude

Kutien, van Noord and Luyckx carry the campaign. A line-up of three suggests a group heading out together, which fits the nightclub reading: the evening is a shared performance, and everyone in the party has to hold up their end. Casting models who can wear a pair of shades indoors without apology is half the job.

There is a commercial logic here too. Evening clothes are a hard sell on the high street, where shoppers buy for the office, the weekend and the occasional wedding. A campaign that treats going out as a style event in its own right gives the category a personality. It invites a shopper to imagine the night before imagining the outfit, then to work backward from the mood to the rack.

Why it works

What makes the approach likeable is its lack of apology. Plenty of fashion imagery pretends that clothes are chosen for comfort or function. This one admits that some outfits exist to be noticed, and it has fun with that. The three accessories and one pair of trousers at the centre of the styling are easy to understand and easy to copy: a pair of sunglasses, a pair of gloves, a pair of leather trousers. Anyone can borrow one element and keep the rest of the wardrobe as it is.

That is a smart way for a brand of Zara’s scale to speak. A big retailer does not need to whisper exclusivity. It can sell attitude at volume, and let customers decide how far to take it. Wear the full look and you are the person arriving at midnight with your eyes hidden. Wear only the gloves and you are still a little more interesting than you were at six o’clock.

Evening 2026 treats night as a costume change, and the costume comes with a built-in sense of occasion. The shades go on before the door opens. Whatever happens after that is up to the wearer.
