The Qatar-America Institute Hosting its Inaugural Fashion Show
Get ready for this upcoming March 20th as the Qatar-America Institute will be hosting its inaugural fashion show: Qatar Couture: A tale of 100 Years in Fashion: an immersive journey, live experience and first look into contemporary and modest fashions by artists from Qatar. The fashion show, which will be held on sea in Los Angeles’ Marina Del Rey port is being sponsored by The Qatar-America Institute: a nonprofit research institute that highlights information on the U.S.- Qatari strategic relationship. Its goal is to educate and enhance the vital partnership between both nation’s capitals, as well as the enduring friendship among the Qatari and American people. Qatar, a country that has a historical association with the sea will be celebrating their country’s fashions embarked on a yacht on the Pacific Coast unifying their historic association with traditional and contemporary Modern fashions from their young talent.
Guests will be entertainment by composer Dana Al Fardan and view fashions created by internationally renowned known fashion designer Elham Al Ansari amongst others. Dana Al Fardan is a worldwide known Qatari composer who holds the nations’ record as its only female contemporary composer and founder of the country’s first record label. Elham Al Ansari who is set to show her collections has demonstrated her intelligent sense of fashion style, representative of Qatari culture and values.
In recent years, the Qatar-America Institute has made strides in connecting the American audience with the Qatari community. Just this month, the institute hosted its’ “Expressions Artist Talk” in Houston, Texas with internationally renowned Arabian horse breeder Michael Byatt.
